Own it

The question this session is about ownership in the notions of:       open source          there are (almost) never new ideas -> references, assign other ideas     the responsibility, especially if other people are involved This ideas play in my "worst nightmare", if the BA project would just deteriorate into nothingness without leaving a trace or even be harmful for the people involved so I must be aware and prevent a top-down approach from the designers perspective, especially if I'm in a more privileged position. This is especially hard in synergy with my other fear of making too much compromises and making the whole work a chore to chew through. A good way to combat this fears is analyzing my skills and be my own critic(which I tend to do too harshly anyway). I also like to think that I have good ideas. A helpful resource is my own blog, which in retrospect I'm very glad that I did it that throughout: thoughts-on-inter-action-design-methods There I list a ton o

ambitions

What do I strive for? What could I dream about? For my personal goals I don't see them yet. I'd like to have fun during the process ultimately.  There's this notion of "justice" if you read the story, an urge for rehabilitation and an appreciation for the body of work of my grandfather comes up. I have several problems with this approach, on one hand I ultimately have just one perspective of this topic until now, and I do think it would be a disservice to paint my relatives as the victims.

observations

Observation For the observation part I translated a short excerpt from the book, where the my grandfather, the author of this book, describes the course of events of the wine laws and his stance.   Until 1970 it was obligatory to indicate how many "puttony" the wine was made from. This was possible from 2 to 6. The category of „one puttony“ used to be in circulation, but was later cancelled. The categories even ranged to 7, 8 or even 10 „puttony", but wasn’t ever used. Over the span of 20 years the laws were changed. As second step, the category of „2 pottony" was cancelled. Further in 1997 it was decreed that Tokaj wine could be also produced without the traditional manufacturing method! And then something happened which I believe resembles a particularly serious crime.   On the basis of a "commission" of seven people the regulation could be changed arbitrarily. And so Tokaj wine fell into French hands. It should be noted that there were no professional

in the search of a research question

Bild
It’s pretty damn hard to come up with a significant research question with the complexity of my interest field in mind. Since last time I come up with the broad and big “sphere of influence” based on my research I thought of directions my asked questions could go. What does this story say about the systems world we live in? What could a project regarding this theme look like? The topics I ended up with my initial research are: systems, politics and the issue my relatives lifework of traditional winemaking is facing. The first thing that comes to my mind is a story telling approach. Using qualitativ research procedures a work could be done in this directions. So   a possible formulated research question could be like: How can applied system theory contribute to the issues of traditional wine making in the region of Tokaj Hegyalja in

looking for references

Literature Review My results of a first research session is all over the place since I can’t decide yet what to focus on at this point in my process of finding a topic for my bachelor thesis. I hope that maybe within the next step of formulating a research question, I can find a way to combine my interests in a more articulated and tangible manner. I have several „strains“ or respectively lines of interests that showed up during my explorations. In a way to cope with the, for me overwhelming, task of finding a specific topic, I looked in my nearer surroundings and „rediscovered“ my passion in the occupation of my Hungarian relatives. They make wine in a small family owned business in the eastern part of Hungary, where the once world renowned sweet wine „Aszu“ origins. They are one of the last producers that practice the traditional way of creating the formerly world famous wine. In the time of the corona virus crisis I finally took my time and finished the written memoirs of my late gr
